It finally feels like fall!

And it got so cold last night, it was feeling a bit like winter! Not sure if I'm ready for that yet. Although, I finally got to break out my knee-length express wool sweater that I've been dying to wear.  Michael and I are headed home this weekend to hang out and relax with the family. We have lots of stuff planned, but hopefully there will be time to relax as well.

Instead of carving pumpkins this year, I thought it would be easier (and a little more kid-friendly) to paint/decorate. I've gotten some great ideas online, here are some of my favorites:

this one requires a little bit of carving:

this one is my favorite:

and finally:

Bat pumpkins

Happy pumpkin decorating everyone!

scarves

Fall is quickly approaching and my favorite fall accessory is: scarves! I always love adding to my ever-growing collection, and here are a few that are on my fall wish list.

Love the tassels on this one:

and of course there's the classic cashmere scarf, Nordstrom has a wonderful selection:

and if I were better at knitting, I would love to sport one that looks like this:

Baking Bonanza

As most of you know, I love to bake! Cookies, bars, cakes, bread, just about anything. This weekend I had lots of extra ripe bananas lying around so I decided to make some banana bread.

I also got inspired by the quickly approaching fall season and whipped up some pumpkin chocolate chip muffins.

Here is a wonderful recipe, I added about one cup of chocolate chips. Next up are some pumpkin bars!

Have a wonderful Sunday evening everyone.

All About Paper

When I was a student, I was always obsessed with day planners. I would keep my schedule up to date complete with homework assignments on a daily basis. I also love the feeling of accomplishment that accompanies crossing off tasks from my to-do list. Weird, I know. Actually I don't know if it's that weird - I've met several people who do the same thing... Since I'm not a student anymore and have no more lengthy homework assignment due dates to keep track of, the iPhone calendar works just fine for my schedule. But sometimes, I miss having a paper planner. In lieu of planners, I am finding a new obsession with calendars...

How cool is this typography calendar:
