snow shots

As I mentioned in yesterday's post, we arrived home on Monday morning to this:

Lily is captivated with the snow. Here are a few of my favorites, taken by Michael:

merry monday

This weekend was a busy one filled with last-minute Christmas shopping, church activities, and the Dexter season finale(!). Michael and I spent the weekend with my family, and we got snowed in on Sunday night. We stayed the night and got up early this morning to make the trek back to C-U.

Michael took some great photos this morning of our snowy backyard, pictures to come later. There was a four-foot drift in outside of our back door slider. As much as I enjoy the snow's beauty, I am really looking forward to a sunny beach next week!

Here is what inspired me this morning:

how great are these rings?

no, I didn't think of this brilliant idea of "wish I was here Wednesday," so I'll admit to stealing it from this fantastic blog.

how considerate of you

I've seen this on a few blogs before and I just couldn't resist sharing:

For all of you who, like me, find it highly irritating when the person you are with is always on their phone, you may appreciate this.

snowed in

We woke up this morning to a beautiful winter wonderland! Luckily, Michael and I went to the grocery store last night, so we were all stocked up with food for the weekend in. I spent the day reading my book, napping, cooking (breakfast, lunch, and now dinner, thank you very much!), and am going to decorate the tree and watch a movie tonight.

Lily and Paxton had a blast running through the snow.

And when Michael ventured out tonight to get the mail, I was delightfully surprised at what I received to add to my much-needed Christmas decor for our little place. Thanks Patty :-)

Friday inspiration

Lucky for me, this morning at work has flown by. There are perks to being really busy at work (note: I don't stare at the clock on my computer to watch the minutes tick by). I am really looking forward to a cozy weekend at home.

On the agenda: starting my Christmas shopping, do a little baking, making an herb roasted chicken, snuggling up with Lils and Pax watching movies, and just puttering around the house. Oh and how can I forget? Putting up the tree!

Here are some fun finds from my lunch-time blog browsing:

Fold me close. Perfect wedges!

A mother's love. This artist has a great selection on her site, Artwark.

I'm definitely going to make these cinnamon sugar pecans for our Christmas celebration!

And in my ongoing search for the perfect art to go over my couch in the living room, here are some on the house wish-list.  Since our living room is oblong, the space over the couch is huge and needs something wide to fill the space.  I have been looking at triptychs:

something a bit more subtle, color-wise:

things to do

Johnny Cash's to do list. As a to-do lister myself, I can appreciate this:

Have a good Wednesday everyone.

I'll leave you with a few things that caught my eye today:

a very unique whale for your desk.

lovely green onyx ring.

these pieces are stunning. why didn't I get the ability to create art like this gene?!

and finally, I <3 these custom recycled denim dog balls. Too bad my little monsters adorable pups would chew them up in a heartbeat.
