Back in Action

After a year+ hiatus from my blog, I've decided to come back to the blogging world. Here we go...

Two words describe life right now: law school.

It is pretty much what I expected, but I still cannot believe how much work Michael has on a daily basis.  I have been holding down the fort at home, cooking, cleaning, laundry, hanging out with the dogs, organizing our new house (hopefully pictures to come soon!), and taking classes at the university gym. Also, I discovered a wonderful dog park near our house which has been a nice retreat for Lily & Paxton.

This hot weather is reminding of our annual trip to Florida! We are leaving December 22, and I am already counting down the days. I stumbled upon these amazing swimsuits yesterday, just looking at them reminds me of the amazing beaches on Marco Island!

Fall is quickly approaching and I can't wait! Pumpkin spice lattes, apple picking, apple cider donuts, you get the idea.

As I was cleaning up my computer pictures, I realized I haven't posted anything on the blog for quite some time.  Here are a few from our family trip to Marco Island in January of '09.  We all had a great time,  and the weather was amazing.

Fall in Portland

I haven't posted anything for quite awhile, so I thought I would give you a brief update of what's going on in the Shemkus house. Lily is doing great, she just finished her obedience training, and loves her weekly visits to doggy daycare. She is really spoiled, as you can see from the picture below...

Fall in Portland has been beautiful (minus the rainy days).

Michael and I are planning a trip down to Eugene this weekend to celebrate his birthday, Julia's birthday, and Pete's birthday-whew! Then we are off to Illinois for Thanksgiving! I am very excited to spend Thanksgiving with the Perley family--I will be learning how to cook a turkey this year--yum!
